2002 Picture Journal of Steven's Journeys Page 2

In Whitecourt, I met a lot of awesome people. I definitely do not have enough pictures to document this section (they are not all developed yet - let alone being scanned in!) I guess I'll have to describe things in words then!

• I was in Whitecourt for 6 months as a Help Desk Analyst at Alberta Newsprint Company
• At work, I did an awesome job solving all kinds of computer problems, and even developing an Electronic Logbook in ASP.NET and SQL Server!
• Other things I was famous for at work included my love of pineapple (after you taste a fresh pineapple in the Baja you like them a lot!), and my singing ability (I was always called to sing "Happy Birthday" for everyone!)
• I rode to work on my bicycle once in a while (12 km each way)
• During the summer there were lots of things going on, both here in Whitecourt and in Edmonton and Grassland!
  • Weekends were spent, at first, tubing down the McLeod River with my sisters who visited me, and then with Scott, Nicole, Chad M., Joanne and two of their friends whom I knew from Edmonton too! I also enjoyed biking around on all the trails, and falling in mud puddles!
  • Some significant events were that Lawrence and Michelle were married, and Scott and Nicole were married too!
  • Also, my brother Michael graduated and Daniel has a wonderful girlfriend.

Well, in September, I went to Jasper with a bunch of friends from Edmonton and here are some pics!!!

Dave held me upside down beside the cliff... I was pretty scared...	This trip was a lot of fun... We did a lot of mountain biking (including some dare-devil stunts). But, if you want to see those pics you have to see the printed version...

The trip to Jasper was awesome... Well, when I got back to Whitecourt, I joined Tae Kwon Do as a beginner (White Belt). I ended up competing in a tournament, and obtained second place in patterns. I graduated to my Yellow belt at the beginning of December.
In October I went to Vancouver on a business trip with Eileen. We upgraded servers and workstations at our Vancouver office. Not only that, I got to see ocean water again! Eileen was a lot of fun to travel with; in our limited spare time we ate at the Keg and also a bay-front restaurant, rented bikes and rode around Stanley Park, and hung out on a beach! My co-workers in Vancouver were fun to meet too.
I also started hanging out with Chad and Cindy a lot, and we became awesome friends. There is also a junior high youth group at the church I was going to, and I helped out sometimes as a leader. We went to a concert event in Swan Hills, had a theme night, and other fun things! At the beginning of November, my two brothers came to visit from Grassland, and since they have never been to Jasper, I decided that we should go. So here are some Jasper pics from November when there is a little snow there:

Well when we got back to my apartment after the long day, Michael vegged on the couch:

That brings us to the Grey Cup game in Edmonton... I went with the ANC gang as part of a deal they got from the social club. Chad, Cindy and I spray-painted our hair and coloured our face green and gold. We had lots of fun even though Edmonton lost to Montreal.

In December, there were Christmas parties for ANC and church. Amanda (whom I met at Tae kwon do) was my date for the ANC party, and we had lots of fun. At the church party I acted in a Red-Green Show skit.

Anyways, that brings me up to today (whew, I just covered an entire year!) I am currently packing up and will be back in Edmonton for four more months until I finish my degree!
